Ageism is prejudice, discrimination, or rejection against any old individual based on age. Unfortunately, even though it is highly discouraged on moral grounds, the fatalistic stereotype is still practiced across the globe, self-dictated or not. Older adults often get affected by mind traps wherein they believe that it’s only because of Ageism they are being rejected for a job. As a result, they don’t try to improve their candidacy or think it could be a competitive rejection and fall prey to mental stress.
Whereas if you are looking for a job with ample experience, you utilize that experience to your advantage to land a job irrespective of age. Firstly the resume should not be more than two pages; objectively outline your recent work & achievements as per the position you are applying for. Secondly, a resume title is critical; edit it whenever necessary. Finally, demonstrate to the employer that hiring you will make their life easy and you are ready to learn, unlearn & relearn as per the role requirement.
